NSSI : About Us !

Nunavut Sealink and Supply Inc. (NSSI)
«A partnership built on common sense»

Nunavut Sealink and Supply Inc.(NSSI) is an Inuit majority owned Nunavut based company, registered and certified in conformity with Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) Policies, and its head office is located in Iqaluit. NSSI was incorporated in April 2000, under the Canadian Act. Its first shareholders were Arctic Co-operatives Limited, and Desgagnés Transarctik Inc. (DTI), the managing partner of the company.

In December 2012 and in January 2014, NSSI was enriched by significant additions to its shareholders, when Qikiqtaaluk Corporation (QC), Sakku Investments Corporation (Sakku) and Kitikmeot Corporation (KC) joined the partnership formation.

NSSI not only carries general cargo, but also fuel. NSSI’s entire revenues originate from the general cargo and fuel carriage activities, to and from Nunavut destinations, and the company's profits generated by these activities are distributed among its shareholders, according to the partners’ respective shares.

Thanks to its access to a sizeable fleet comprised of multipurpose cargo ships and tankers, its human resources’ expertise and its determination to remain the leader in Arctic resupply services, NSSI has, throughout the years, committed to maintaining excellence in the sealift services it offers to its clients. NSSI also commits to servicing all its customers as partners; and it will always be proud of the success of each of their individual project.

Foremost, NSSI pursues its mandate as a first rank reliable partner in Economic Development projects, as well as a local-capacity builder within the Nunavut Territory.

It is our belief that NSSI, has clearly proven its capability and capacity to meet, and even surpass its clients’ expectations. NSSI presently serves 26 communities, of which few area are included in the GN/NSSI Agreement for the Arctic Resupply services.
